Pastor Gary C. Luckenbill (with his wife Metra) answered God's call to pastor Christ Evangelical beginning in July 2007. Prior to that, Pastor Gary had served six congregations in south central Pennsylvania over a span of nearly thirty-five years.

"I was eight years old when at a Christian summer camp at Waldheim Park in southern Allentown, PA, I gave my heart to the Lord. Deeply devoted Christian parents nurtured a love for the Jesus within me from my earliest years on.  My pastor, the Reverend Richard Christman, preached the call for young people willing to commit themselves to full-time Christian service when, as a teen, I accepted the call of God to pastoral ministry.

"Four years at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA and three at Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, PA provided excellent preparation for years of pastoral service. In time, six more years were devoted to further graduate study.  But, at no time was there ever any more effective training than that gained from daily study of God's Word together with prayerful meditation and fellowship with pastoral and lay believers who dearly loved the Lord.

"More than anything else, I long to coach an eager team of disciples who are passionate about introducing others to Jesus Christ."
